Savoir-Faire: The Mastery of Craft in Fashion spans 30 years of iconic fashion design and over 700 years of Chinese heritage arts through the shared lens of exceptional craftsmanship.This rare multi-brand exhibition is presented by New World Development CEO Adrian Cheng and Carine Roitfeld, former Editor-in-Chief of VOGUE Paris. It’s less a retrospective and more a visual manifesto, immersing visitors into the mesmerising world of haute couture and prêt-à-porter from the world’s biggest designers, including never-before-seen pieces from the most coveted maisons. Covering the early 1990s to contemporary collections, Savoir-Faire exemplifies the mastery of ‘know-how’) as a compelling and vital force that the most talented designers’ and couturiers’ use to articulate their visions. The displays also reveal the evolving aesthetics of fashion, from the most revered fashion houses to the most avant-garde independent designers. It also delves into the history and mastery of craft in rare Chinese artefacts and modern pieces from the archives of K11 Craft & Guild Foundation (KCG), Asia’s first creative platform for cultural contemplation focusing on conserving and preserving Chinese traditional craftsmanship.
